6 Ways To Memorialize Loved Ones At Your Wedding

Weddings can be stressful, especially when you don’t have your close family and best friends to help you navigate this big life event. No matter what, you can still have them with you on your special day. From photo displays and bouquet charms to ceremony additions and musical moments, here are a handful of ways you can memorialize your deceased loved ones during your wedding,

1. Memorial Wall or Table

Perhaps one of the most common memorials includes a variety of framed photos presented on a table or shelf. Dearly departed family members and friends can all be prominently displayed for all guests to see and remember.

You can accentuate the space with floral arrangements, petals, candles, or a small sign reading “In Loving Memory,” “Dancing With Us In Heaven,” “Forever In Our Hearts,” etc.

2. Make Them A Part Of Your Ceremony

Whether you opt for a traditional marriage ceremony or a non-religious wedding, you can add a nod to your loved ones. From sharing their names in a prayer to reading a poem in their honor, all the way to walking down the aisle to a song that reminds you of them…there are many ways to sprinkle in a little love for those who are no longer with us. Should you print wedding programs, you can also add an “In Memory” section for guests to read.

3. Reserve A Seat

For close friends and family members who have a special place in your heart—save them a seat—literally. With a framed photo, linen draping, or simple written sign, you can make sure your favorite people are given a place of honor in the front row.

You can even get your wedding party involved in honoring those who have passed. As each party member walks down the aisle, they can lay a single flower down on the front row seat as a beautiful tribute.

4. Wear Something Of Theirs

From jewelry, ties, and pocket squares all the way to wedding gowns and jackets, you can memorialize your loved ones by sporting their favorite pieces.

If you don’t have access to their closet, you can also don their handwriting via custom cufflinks, bracelets, and patches.

5. Photo Charms & Patches

Keep your loved ones close with an array of photo charms to hold with you all day long.

Etsy sellers offer an array of bouquet charms, lapel pins, tuxedo pocket photo stickers, portrait patches, and more.

6. Have A Music Moment

Playing artists and songs your loved ones put on the car radio or blasted from their iPhone speakers will make them feel closer to you than ever. From ceremony music to reception songs, there are plenty of ways to have a special music moment.
