Best First Look Spots In & Around The Elliot

First looks are truly so special. Some couples love it as it can remedy those pre-wedding jitters, others opt for it to exchange intimate notes and private vows, and certain couples even choose it as a way to make portraits fit more easily into their photography timeline. No matter your reason for wanting a first look with your partner, The Elliot has the ideal location for you and your vendors. Here are six of our favorite first look spots in and around the venue to consider for your wedding day.

The Balcony

We may be biased, but we love a stained-glass window moment. Not only will it add a perfect pop of color to all of your first look photos, but it also offers dazzling natural light—something your photographer will love, too.

The balcony also allows you to have The Elliot’s iconic crystal chandelier shining in the background as you exchange personal vows, letters, gifts, and the like.

For a more intimate first look, you can also choose to see each other in one of our two dressing rooms with small stained glass windows and cushy couches.

At The Altar

Jordan Vandenberge

Before you stand in front of your guests and officially tie the knot, take some time to enjoy your ceremony spot. As you do your first look, take in the space with your future spouse…the gorgeous decorations, the empty seats soon to be filled, and of course, each other.

The Bottom Of The Grand Staircase

Lauren Elyse Photography

Take your partner’s breath away by descending the stairs in your wedding day fit. Not only will this make for wonderful photos, but you’ll also have a chance to practice going up and down the stairs in your wedding shoes. It can never hurt to make sure, right?

The Rosehip Room

For moody, sensual, and luxurious first look photos, you’ll definitely want to consider The Rosehip Room, the speakeasy located under The Elliot. The dark-hued walls, quartz bar, gold hardware pops, and comfy seating make this the ideal spot for the couple who needs a breather before the party starts.

Lincoln Park

KCB Photography

Located right across the street from The Elliot, Tremont’s Lincoln Park offers couples a lush backdrop for first looks. With seasonal foliage, a central gazebo, and towering trees, there are myriad places to see your future spouse before your ceremony.

Front Stairs

Have your first look in front of the venue for stunning natural light, natural brick textures, and a breath of fresh air — literally.
