Maintains the bar and serves beverages to the guests in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner.

responsibilities

Job responsibilities include:

  • Arriving pre-event to set up and stock the bar per the pull sheet. This includes stocking all ice, beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, and produce.

  • Prepping the glassware for events, as needed.

  • Checking in with the day-of Venue Coordinator for event details.

  • Cutting and storing all fresh fruit garnishes, juices, and other perishable items to ensure product quality.

  • Inputting orders into the POS system as needed.

  • Greeting guests in a timely manner. 

  • Mixing, garnishing, and presenting drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control.

  • Completing all training requirements and attending required staff meetings (paid).

  • Practicing “clean as you go” procedures, including trash removal. Maintaining sanitation in and around the bar area.

  • Removing inventory from the bar and replacing all equipment to proper storage.

  • Working kindly and efficiently with The Elliot’s events team and vendors. Maintaining a positive and professional attitude toward guests,

  • Communicating challenges, concerns, or guest complaints to the Venue Coordinator.

  • Observing all safety procedures during the assignment.

  • Enforcing the venue’s building and safety policies.

requirements

  • Must be available for 3+ shifts/ month during The Elliot’s busy season

  • Must adhere to all State, Federal, and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests to ensure all laws are being followed

  • Understand popular drink recipes, mixing procedures, and serving sizes

  • Ability to operate a keyboard and point-of-sale procedures to pre-check an order and close out a check

qualifications

  • Bartending experience is a must, in a banquet or event setting is preferred

  • Sufficient manual dexterity in hands to use a knife to make garnish, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and reach overhead to retrieve stock

  • Ability to lift 25 pounds and stand on your feet for several hours

  • Must have a valid Ohio Driver’s License
